The Haq reading table
A stronger legal conversation begins with an ordered record.
These preparation notes explain how to separate people, events, authority, documents and the immediate objective before an initial enquiry. They provide general information only and do not determine the legal answer.
Identify the source document or event.
Build a neutral chronology.
State the decision that now needs attention.
Preparation note 01 · Contracts
Before a contract review, reconstruct the agreement—not only the latest draft.
Bring the complete draft and schedules, the commercial or personal objective, the main concern and the date by which a decision is needed. Identify any terms already accepted in correspondence or conversation.
Who will sign and on what authority?
What must each party do, by when and to what standard?
How do payment, adjustment, delay and non-performance interact?
How can the relationship change or end?
Preparation note 02 · Company decisions
Separate ownership, management and signing authority before discussing structure.
List the parties, intended activity, ownership expectations, management roles and existing company records. Mark which decisions are settled and which remain open.
Founders, investors, managers and proposed authorised signatories.
Ordinary management, reserved decisions and approval thresholds.
Existing entity documents, shareholder positions and written proposals.
The business activity and operating result the structure is intended to support.
Preparation note 03 · Employment and disputes
A chronology should show what happened, when it happened and which record supports it.
Preserve original agreements, policies, correspondence, notices and payment records. Write a neutral sequence of events and keep assumptions separate from facts that can be tied to a source.
Use exact dates where known and identify estimates clearly.
Describe what occurred without argument or repetition.
Link each important event to the strongest available original record.
Identify any approaching hearing, filing, payment, appeal, meeting or signature date immediately.
Preparation note 04 · Property and inheritance
Personal records become useful when relationships, assets and authority stay distinct.
For a property question, gather the proposed agreement, records made available, payment schedule and authority documents. For inheritance, prepare a family relationship outline, known assets or obligations and the records already available.
Describe the proposed commitment and the information that must be verified before it proceeds.
Record relationships factually without uploading unnecessary identity information.
List what exists; do not send originals or a full sensitive archive through the first enquiry.
State the event or decision prompting legal help now.
